Local riders and nationally known pros will test their skills
Sunday as the 14th annual Black Bear 40K mountain bike race gets
rolling at Kanawha State Forest. The race, a West Virginia Mountain
Bike Association points series event, utilizes almost every single-
track trail in the Forest.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the race starts at noon. In
addition to the pros, area riders can compete in one of many classes
- junior, beginner, sport, veteran, master, expert and "Clydesdale"
for riders over 200 pounds.
Among the professionals competing will be Davis native Sue
Haywood.
Sponsored by the state Division of Tourism and Trek Bikes,
