Summertime ... and the opinions are easy. Summer gonna be met
with approval and summer not. With future schedules being slapped
together about now, it would be a good time for West Virginia
University to take a long look at its annual Diamond Classic, which
is held at Watt Powell Park in late March or early April.
The first five such games averaged a less-than-modest 592 fans,
with a high of 778 coming against Morehead State last year. And that
includes a pair of "showdowns" with Marshall. When this year's
Classic against Louisville was canceled outright by foul weather,
there was little outcry. In fact, there wasn't much of any reaction,
since the game has yet to catch the fancy of ...
