PONTIAC, Mich. - Cincinnati quarterback Deontey Kenner is 1-0 in
bowl games, but most of his teammates have never played in a bowl.
Marshall quarterback Byron Leftwich will be starting in a bowl for
the first time, but most of his teammates have some bowl experience
and some have played in three straight bowl games. The two
quarterbacks will be the center of attention when their teams meet
at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Motor City Bowl.
Kenner played receiver for most of his freshman year, but was
moved into a starting quarterback rotation with Chad Plummer for
Cincinnati's 1997 Humanitarian Bowl victory against Utah State.
