DAVID Soul is candid about why we still remember his hit singles
from the Seventies, 'Don't Give Up On Us Baby' and 'Silver Lady'.
"We're reminded of them whenever we walk into an elevator," he
laughs. "Muzak is the new hip thing." Like Muzak, Soul is suddenly
trendy. One newspaper recently dubbed him "A-list cool", and Channel
4 cleared its Spring Bank Holiday schedules to screen a tribute to
Starsky and Hutch, the iconic Seventies cop show in which he starred
with Paul Michael Glaser. Soul's features have recently adorned the
pages of Vogue magazine, and one of London's most fashionable clubs
is named after Starsky and Hutch.
