THE Montpelier Partnership cafe-bar group - whose Indigo Yard
outlet in Edinburgh was recently voted Scotland's best style bar -
are poised to roll the successful formula out across the country.
And the company, which has three Edinburgh outlets, says the
battle for suitable bar sites in the city is so fierce that it is
considering branching out into the hotel business.
Montpelier's high-profile bars caught the eye of the upmarket
Pitcher and Piano operation recently. But the partnership spurned
the advances of the acquisitive chain, in the belief that an
independent approach offered the best prospects for long-term growth
in a rapidly changing marketplace.
