East Coast continues to capture the imagination of New Zealand's
rugby public. Sports reporter Wayne Martin talks to the union's
executive officer Anthony Nelson about the Ngati Porou experience. -

New Zealand rugby's doormat.
Times have changed.
After two consecutive third division NPC titles, East Coast is
now vying for the second division championship but must lower Nelson
Bays' colours at Ruatoria on Sunday to keep its campaign alive.
East Coast couldn't win a game in 1996, managed two victories the
following year and achieved a creditable 50 percent success rate in
1998.
