This year the Nelson Mail Garden Competition offers gardeners of all kinds a chance to have a go and enter the monthly competitions and be in to win the overall prize of a voucher for $1000 from principal sponsor, Wilkins and Field Mitre 10.

This year the format of the competition follows that of years prior to last year's Garden of the Century competition with different monthly categories.

The six different monthly categories this year include first up, September, the best garden art, followed by best lawn for October and best spring garden for November.

The competition takes a rest in December and starts again in January with the search for the best garden shed. ...
