THE Scottish squash champion nearly killed by so-called 'economy-
class syndrome' has revealed that her own GP failed to diagnose the
condition, even though she specifically asked him if she was
suffering from it.
Pamela Nimmo, who is ranked 17th in the world, began suffering
chest pains and breathlessness after a long-haul flight to America
last month.
A doctor at her local club suggested she might be suffering from
the syndrome, known technically as deep-vein thrombosis (DVT).
However, when she asked her doctor in Nottingham if her symptoms
could be caused by blood clots resulting from DVT, he told her she
