THOSE Scotland enthusiasts inclined towards self-pity in the wake
of the England defeat at Twickenham who might bemoan the failure of
the two professional sides in Europe or the Welsh/Scottish League,
or who simply consider themselves fated to climb out of the wrong
side of bed every morning, should perhaps consider the plight of
Walkerburn.
The Borders club, one of the oldest in the land with a founding
date of 1884, are currently fighting for their lives in National
League Division 5 (East). With a total in the points column that
reads minus three and a gap of 22 between themselves and the side
above, Royal Dick Vet, you could say it's pretty hard to look on the
bright side of life down ...
