Article: Alliance with unspeakable turns cruel spotlight on epitome of endeavour

IT WAS just a paragraph or two in the Racing Post, but to anybody with half a brain in racing it should have been the wake-up call from hell. The report said that an organisation called Animal Aid are to launch Horse Racing Awareness Week targeting the Grand National, which they describe as the "epitome of animal abuse".

I don't know who are behind Animal Aid, but I trust that they are not linked in any way to those who sabotage hunts and threaten animal-testing laboratories. Mostly, I suppose, they seek to garner attention from headline-grabbing statements and picture opportunities. Just like New Labour.
