New Zealand snatched a sensational Test victory from South Africa
with a try by wing Doug Howlett in the last move of a pulsating Tri-
Nations Test match here yesterday.
The All Blacks were behind from the 26th second, when they
conceded a try that stunned the 35,000 crowd at Jade stadium. But
from the ashes of a 21-12 half-time deficit New Zealand's forwards
took control of the game, launching wave after wave of attacks around
the fringes which stretched and finally broke the brave South African
defence.
After so clueless a first-half effort, an immense comeback was
needed by the All Blacks. Their coach, Graham Henry, said: "We showed
