Article: Proof of true love lies in the mind

TRUE love exists - and this is the picture that proves it. Denied by cynics and celebrated by poets, scientists have finally ended the argument.

They have used brain scans to capture images of parts of the brain which 'light up' when a man or woman sets eyes on their true love.

The pictures will be published for the first time in the medical journal NeuroReport next month. They prove that romantic love is physically different from merely liking somebody and that it produces altered blood flows in the brain.
