PARENTS at a Glasgow school threatened with closure blocked a
road
in the city yesterday to protest at "concentration camp" plans to
teach their children in huts at another school four miles away.
A group of about 30 pupils and parents from St Leonard's in
Easterhouse sat down in the road and chanted outside St Andrew's
Secondary, Carntyne, where Glasgow City Council expects to send 560
Easterhouse pupils from August. At present the host school has just
over 300 free places and the council plans to build 18 temporary
huts
