GERRY Adams last night appealed for calm from the Nationalist
community as Sinn Fein prepared to be thrown out of the Northern
Ireland peace talks.
The Sinn Fein President said there would be anger if his party is
expelled by the British and Irish governments. However, he insisted
he was still committed to peace and reaching a final settlement.
No decision was reached last night on Sinn Fein's future
participation in the talks although it is almost certain they will
be
suspended, possibly for two weeks.
Northern Ireland Secretary Mo Mowlam said last night that she
hoped an announcement would be made "as quickly as possible".
