Article: Sale offer puts seal on fate of Sea Life Centres

THIS seal pup taken in by Scarborough Sea Life centre after being washed up during recent gales has found its new home for sale.

The leisure group Vardon is selling its 19 Sea Life Centres - including those in St Andrews and Oban - as well as its London Dungeon tourist attraction in a move to raise GBP 55 million for its fast-expanding health and fitness clubs.

Its decision was announced as the chairman Nick Irens disclosed the firm had bought for GBP 22.4 million the Harbour Club in Chelsea, which used to count Diana, Princess of Wales, among its members. Vardon aims to become the UK's major health club specialist.
