IT WAS the most embarrassing moment for Children's BBC since
Tinky
Winky admitted smoking waccy baccy on the set of Teletubbies.
As if sacking a Blue Peter presenter for taking cocaine was not
awkward enough, Richard Bacon's boss yesterday had to work out how
to
explain it to 3.5 million child viewers.
The clean-cut 22-year-old resident adventurer of the programme
had
ventured rather too far to remain a role-model after ending a 12-
hour
drinking session with something that was very definitely not legal.
As the time for yesterday's Blue Peter drew near, and the phrase
"here's one I prepared earlier" developed a new meaning, Bacon's
superiors opted for a direct approach.
