Article: Hindley taken to hospital after falling ill in prison

THE Moors murderer Myra Hindley was in hospital last night after being taken ill in prison. It is understood that Hindley, 57, is under observation and not in intensive care, despite reports that she may have suffered a stroke.

The 57-year-old was taken by ambulance to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmonds just a day after her accomplice, Ian Brady, was also taken to hospital after collapsing in his cell following a hunger strike.

Prison service officers confirmed Hindley had been taken to hospital from the Highpoint Prison in Suffolk, where she is serving life for her part in the murder of a ten-year-old girl and a 17- year-old boy.
