A FOUNDING member of the Bay City Rollers escaped a jail sentence
for possessing child pornography yesterday.
Derek Longmuir, 49, the drummer in the 1970s Edinburgh pop group,
was convicted of being in possession of indecent photographs, videos
and computer discs which featured young boys in a variety of sexual
acts. He also admitted making indecent images of young children by
downloading photographs on a computer from the internet. He was
ordered to perform 300 hours' community service.
Longmuir, a nurse at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, was caught
with the indecent material when police raided his flat in the city's
