Article: Adults vote Lego toy of century

WHILE Barbie dolls and Beaniebabies continue to dominate the playground, it was the adults who had the last word yesterday when they voted in their thousands for the toy of the century.

The shortlist included perennial favourites such as the teddy bear, Barbie and Action Man, but the grown-ups' choice was the humble brick of Lego. Internet votes from all over the world singled out Lego as having made the single most significant contribution to children's play in the past 100 years. A panel from the British Association of Toy Retailers announced the results last night in London.
