PASSENGERS were delayed for up to eight hours yesterday as the
knock-on effect from Saturday's breakdown of the main air traffic
control computer continued.
Passengers at Glasgow airport faced delays of up to eight hours
yesterday and charter flight travellers were experiencing similar
waits.
Heathrow airport was badly hit, with 22 British Airways and about
15 British Midland flights cancelled, but normal service is expected
to resume nationwide today.
Thousands of travellers were left stranded when the National Air
Traffic Services mainframe computer, which handles all aircraft
entering UK airspace, failed for the second time in a week.
