Article: Government asks:Do mobile phones cause brain cancer?

THE most definitive study yet into links between brain tumours and mobile phones is to be investigated by scientists using pounds 2 million of European, UK government and private funds.

The project will involve thousands of people across the UK and will also examine other possible causes of brain cancers, including radiation from electricity pylons and the effect of pesticides.

The scientists behind the study, revealed today by The Scotsman, hope they will finally be able to shed light on why the number of people diagnosed with brain tumours has risen by more than 20 per cent in 10 years.
