Thomas Scott Kelly, businessman
Born: 20 October, 1935, in Edinburgh Died: 2 September, 2000, in
St Andrews, aged 64
TOM Kelly was the eldest son of the late Rob and Mary Kelly. He
was brought up in the family home in Newington, Edinburgh, with his
two younger brothers, John and Robert. He was the fifth generation
to be educated at George Watson's College and he maintained
connections with the school for the rest of his life.
As soon as he had left Watson's, he was called up for National
Service, where he was commissioned in the Royal Artillery. After
basic training, he served in the Far East, mainly in Hong Kong. This
