PEOPLE diagnosed with dementia may suddenly develop a liking for
pop music which they have previously considered "noise", according
to research published yesterday.
Previous lovers of only classical music, or even those who did
not like any music at all have begun to share the musical tastes of
their pre-teen grandchildren, the study suggests.
The phenomenon could be due to the growing influence of the part
of the brain which enjoys novelty, according to the paper in the
American scientific journal Neurology.
Researchers at the National Centre for Research and Care of
Alzheimer's Disease in Brescia, Italy, found that two of the
