Article: United States Settles Fair Housing Case Against Puerto Rico

WASHINGTON, June 4 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Department of Justice announced today the settlement of a Fair Housing Act lawsuit brought against the commonwealth of Puerto Rico and its Regulations and Permits Administration (ARPE) on behalf of homes for elderly handicapped persons in Puerto Rico.

Assistant Attorney General John R. Dunne, head of the Civil Rights Division, said the consent decree was approved Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Jose Antonio Fuste in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
