WASHINGTON, June 12 /U.S. Newswire/ -- On Monday, June 15, the
National Archives will present a lecture by Gen. Dmitri A.
Volkogonov, chief military advisor to Russian President Boris
Yeltsin, and the author of "Stalin: Triumph and Tragedy," recently
published by Grove Weidenfeld.
The general will discuss issues of access to highly sensitive
materials previously closed to researchers. He is currently
overseeing the reorganization of the Russian Archives to make
available for research sensitive materials from the files of the
Communist Party, the KGB, and other Soviet organizations.
Volkogonov joined the Soviet Army in 1949 at the age of 21. He
