Article: Crisis looms as third council quits COSLA

THE crisis threatening the future of Scotland's local government organisation deepened last night after a third council revealed it was pulling out.

Falkirk Council's decision follows the announcement that Scotland's largest and smallest local authorities were leaving COSLA, the Confederation of Scottish Local Authorities.

Glasgow City Council last week confirmed it was withdrawing and would spend its pounds 300,000 annual subscription on special needs schools for autistic children.
