THE original Lady Penelope and Parker puppets from the classic
science fiction television series Thunderbirds will go under the
hammer for an estimated GBP 100,000 later this year.
Gerry Anderson, the creator of the children's classic, has
decided to auction the marionettes of Lady Penelope and her faithful
servant, saying he was not a collector and was getting rid of the
puppets to get on with three major new projects he has in the
pipeline.
The 72-year-old said yesterday: "I've got nothing of the
collector in me and as soon as I've finished one project I can't
wait to get rid of it all to make room for the next."
