WASHINGTON, March 14 /U.S. Newswire/ -- American Rivers today called for strong action to advance the growing grassroots movement to restore our nation's degraded urban rivers.

The nation's leading river conservation organization, at a morning news conference in Washington, D.C., also announced 16 award-winning urban river restoration projects that are making outstanding conservation strides to restore damaged rivers, while showing the way for other such efforts across the country.
