WASHINGTON, Aug. 6 /U.S. Newswire/ -- With criminal proceedings
against U.S. Rep. Joseph McDade (R-Pa.) concluded, Common Cause today
urged the House Ethics Committee to fulfill its responsibility by
investigating whether McDade violated House ethics rules.
McDade was acquitted of federal bribery and racketeering charges
last week in Pennsylvania.
"With the criminal proceedings now complete in this matter, the
Ethics Committee should fulfill its own clear obligation to conduct
an inquiry," Common Cause President Ann McBride wrote in a letter to
