SAN DIEGO, Aug. 12 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Early in his presidential
campaign, Bob Dole was asked by an Associated Press reporter to name
one social program that works. He replied, "Job Corps."
At the Republican Convention this week, Dole and hundreds of other
Republican leaders will have a chance to witness Job Corps students'
skills firsthand.
Schedule permitting, Dole is expected to visit Job Corps students
and other volunteers at the Habitat for Humanity site on Wednesday.
The youth, ages 16 to 24, are planning careers in construction
after completing Job Corps. They will hone their skills in a
realistic work setting while helping a low-income family that will
