WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 /U.S. Newswire/ -- On Aug. 25, when President
Clinton climbs aboard the special presidential train taking him to
the Democratic National Convention, he will be continuing a tradition
begun 163 years ago by President Andrew Jackson.
It's a tradition that virtually every president -- Democrat,
Republican and Whig -- has followed ever since.
"We are delighted President Clinton has chosen to take the train
part of the way to Chicago. Our nation was built by the development
of railroads and railroads will carry us into the 21st century," said
