Friday, Oct. 18, marks the 24th anniversary of the passing of the Clean Water Act. One of the nation's most successful and popular laws, the Clean Water Act has been strengthened several times over the years with bipartisan support. Under the Clean Water Act, great progress has been made in cleaning up our rivers, lakes and streams. However, last May 240 members of the 104th Congress voted to drastically weaken the Clean Water Act.
