Article: Three Federal Departments Respond to IOM Recommendation to Improve Persian Gulf Research

WASHINGTON, Jan. 4 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The departments of Defense (DOD), Veterans Affairs (VA) and Health and Human Services (HHS), which together comprise the Persian Gulf Veterans Coordinating Board, are taking steps to improve research productivity, as recommended in an interim report by the Institute of Medicine (IOM).

VA and DOD contracted with IOM to review their ongoing research efforts and make recommendations to improve data collection and research studies.
