WASHINGTON, Jan. 12 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Treasury Department
has replied to Governor Howard Dean's request for state-by-state
information on the likely impact on state budgets and tax policy
of a Balanced Budget Amendment and various tax cuts included
in the "Contract with America" proposals being considered in
the United States Congress. Governor Dean is the Chairman of
the National Governor's Association. Attached is the requested
information for the state of Alabama. Also attached is a joint
