Article: Department of Veterans Affairs Seeks Site for Oklahoma National Cemetery

WASHINGTON, Jan. 23 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) today announced it will defer a decision on naming a site for a new national cemetery in Oklahoma and begin reviewing other locations in the state.

This action was taken when the three sites under consideration -- Fort Reno, Edmond and Guthrie -- were deemed not viable for the location of a national cemetery.

In opting to review other sites before making a decision, Secretary of Veterans Affairs Jesse Brown said, "The veterans of this area deserve the best possible location for a national cemetery.
