WASHINGTON, Feb. 23 /U.S. Newswire/ -- This weekend, thousands of young people throughout the United States will go hungry -- they will stop eating for 30 hours to raise public awareness and funds for the fight against world hunger. Over 170,000 American teens are expected to take part in World Vision's annual 30 Hour Famine. Sponsored by families and friends, the young people will raise funds to help feed the hungry at home and overseas through World Vision projects. In the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia, nine "famine" groups will gather together for the 30 Hour Famine.
