Article: Clinton Administration Announces Salmon Recovery Agreement; Columbia River Restoration Funding Will Not Be Capped

WASHINGTON, Oct. 24 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Clinton Administration has announced a significant salmon recovery agreement that will provide needed additional funds for salmon restoration in the Columbia River without incorporating provisions that would have waived important sections of the Northwest Power Act and the Endangered Species Act.

Trout Unlimited, America's leading coldwater fisheries conservation organization, has offered its support for the agreement, which was reached by the Clinton Administration and key members of the Pacific Northwest Congressional delegation.
