Article: New Hampshire Gov. Merrill Backs Dole

WASHINGTON, Nov. 8 /U.S. Newswire/ -- New Hampshire Gov. Steve Merrill today endorsed Republican Bob Dole's bid for the Presidency.

At a news event in Manchester, Dole named Merrill to the position of general chairman of the national campaign, the senior position in the campaign.

Merrill's vital support had been avidly sought by each of the major Republican Presidential contenders this year.
