Article: Report Finds World Population to Add 3 Billion by 2025

WASHINGTON, July 26 /U.S. Newswire/ -- World population may total nearly 9 billion in 2025 -- 3 billion more than today's total and one-half billion more than previous World Bank and United Nations projections for 2025, reports a study released today by the Population Reference Bureau Inc.

The world total may reach 12.6 billion by 2100, according to the new projections, prepared by Dr. Wolfgang Lutz and his colleagues at Austria's respected International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA).
