Article: Groups Launch Statewide Campaign to Save Florida Black Bear

ORLANDO, Sept. 29 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The national conservation group Defenders of Wildlife and the Florida Chapter of the Sierra Club will launch a statewide campaign this weekend to help save the habitat of the imperiled Florida black bear.

The Habitat for Bears campaign will kick off on Oct. 2, with a forum in Orlando on black bear conservation issues and a field trip to nearby Wekiwa Springs State Park. In a related development, the state Game and Freshwater Fish Commission is expected to release a long-term management plan for the Florida black bear on October 1.
