Article: National Center for Human Rights to Strengthen Mexico's Institutional Framework

WASHINGTON, March 19 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Mireille Roccatti, president of the National Commission for Human Rights (CNDH), Mexico's independent watchdog, announced last Tuesday the creation of the National Center for Human Rights (CENADEH).

This new Center will strengthen Mexico's institutional framework and contribute to consolidate a national culture of respect and protection of human rights. Following the conviction that "education is the best antidote against the violation of human rights," it will coordinate national efforts to promote human rights awareness and grassroots training by the CNDH, non-governmental organizations, communities and other actors.
