WASHINGTON, Nov. 9 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Senator Christopher S.
"Kit" Bond, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business,
praised the minimum-wage tax package passed by the Senate today,
which would make 100-percent of health care premiums for self-
employed individuals tax deductible beginning next year. The package
was passed as an amendment to Bankruptcy Reform legislation (S.625).
In addition to providing 100 percent deductibility starting in
2000, the package includes a phase-in of a new deduction for
employees who pay more than 50 percent of the cost of health
insurance. The 100 percent, self-employed deduction mirrors the
provision included in Bond's "Self-Employed Health ...
