WASHINGTON, Dec. 10 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The American Society for
the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals applauded the signing of HR
1887, known as the "Anti-Crush Bill," by President Clinton into law
Thursday, a move that will effectively ban the interstate sales and
possession (with intent to sell) of animal "crush videos."
The ASPCA says outlawing the sales of these videos, which involve
the slow crushing death of small animals for the sexual
gratification of viewers, is a humane victory that sends a larger
message to the public: that violence to animals has an impact on
violence to people and society as a whole.
