WASHINGTON, Oct. 8 /U.S. Newswire/ -- When religious persecution legislation stalled in a Senate committee, the Episcopal Church led the charge to build support for a bipartisan bill that was both principled and practical. "The Episcopal Church jump-started the bill by pulling together diverse religious organizations into a potent grassroots coalition, representing more than 80 percent of the church and temple going public," said Thomas Hart, director of the Church's government relations office.

"The Episcopal Church brings tremendous credibility and commitment to the issue of religious persecution abroad," said Sen.
