WASHINGTON, Sept. 12 /U.S. Newswire/ -- President Clinton today
announced his intent to nominate Rep. Corrine C. "Lindy" Boggs to be
United States Ambassador to the Holy See.
Rep. Boggs, of New Orleans, served nine terms as a Member of
Congress from Louisiana's Second District, succeeding her husband,
House Majority Leader Hale Boggs. During her tenure in Congress,
Rep. Boggs served on the House Appropriations Committee. She also
served on the Select Committee for Children, Youth and Families,
where she chaired the Crisis Intervention Task Force. In addition,
