The Freedom Forum, an international foundation dedicated to free
press, free speech and free spirit, will conduct its final 1997
global media forum on "News Traditions & Transitions" with a program
at Newseum/N.Y. in midtown Manhattan on Thursday, Dec. 11, beginning
at 12:30 p.m.
Each forum this year examined the issues of ownership, technology
and media performance, themes also reflected in The Freedom Forum's
Newseum, the world's only interactive museum of news, which opened
here April 18. Previous forums were in Sydney and Melbourne,
Australia; London; Hong Kong; Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil;
and Nairobi, Kenya.
