BROOKLYN, NY, May 31 /U.S. Newswire/ -- A federal appeals court has dismissed a lawsuit against the Louisiana Supreme Court, challenging a rule directed at shutting down law school clinics dedicated to representing the poor. The lawsuit alleged that the Louisiana Supreme Court tried to shut down the law clinics because they were succeeding in defeating major industrial interests in environmental justice cases, raising the ire of industry and government officials as high as Governor Mike Foster. The Brennan Center for Justice represents the plaintiffs in the case captioned Southern Christian Leadership Conference v. Louisiana Supreme Court.
