After he and his La Plata teammates pummeled Patuxent and
Huntingtown last Thursday night, Eric Jobe scanned the gymnasium for
teammates who are front-runners for a state championship. He couldn't
name one.
Then again, it could be all of them. La Plata showed it has the
depth to make a run at its first state dual championship.
"We have a lot of guys that can hang in their weight class," said
Jobe, a junior heavyweight. "None of the guys are favored, but the
chance is always there that our guys could finish on top."
With Thursday's two victories -- 55-16 over Patuxent and 56-3 over
Huntingtown -- La Plata (14-0) capped an undefeated regular season.
