- King Awards Dinner, Wednesday, Oct. 17, to honor Rep. Nita Lowey
(D-N.Y.), Robert Chase, president of the National Education
Association, and Sandra Feldman, president of the American
Federation of Teachers. NBC 4 Television News Anchor Pat Lawson
Muse will serve as the evening's Master of Ceremonies.
Rep. Nita Lowey has been an outspoken advocate for tough gun
restrictions, including closing the gun show loophole, the Brady
Law, and the Assault Weapons Ban. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.)
will present the Congressional Leadership Award to Rep. Lowey.
