WASHINGTON, June 9 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The following was released
today by the White House:
President Clinton announced today the departure of James B.
Steinberg, Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy National
Security Advisor, effective August 1.
"For more than seven years, Jim Steinberg has been an
indispensable member of my national security team," President
Clinton said. "With his insight, his intensity, his invaluable
judgment, he has been a leader in shaping a national security
